Reduce Burnout By Changing Your Shift Pattern
Nursing is a demanding profession that requires constant attention, quick decision-making, and physical endurance. While the traditional 12-hour shift allows for more days off, long shifts are often at odds with family schedules and the work lives of loved ones.
Switching to 8-hour shifts allows nurses to maintain higher levels of energy and focus throughout their shifts, leading to improved patient care and personal well-being. A workday that’s more in line with your spouse or partner also makes it easier to accommodate household and personal responsibilities without sacrificing professional advancement.
